Instagram Adds New Features to Its ‘Edits’ Video Editing App

That was fast. The app that was built on filters is adding even more of them (and other stuff as well) to its brand new video editing app.

It’s only been out for a week, and Instagram has already launched its first round of updates for its Edits video editing app, with more fonts, more voice effects, simplified editing, and more now available in the app.

We now have 125 fonts for you to add personality to your text and match your style. You can also add depth and emotion to your voiceovers with 15 effects to choose from.”

So a lot of font options, and plenty of vocal effects for you to play with in-stream.

Meta’s also added a new “Apply all” option within its editing suite, making it easier to apply filters, effects, transitions and adjustments to all of your clips at once “to help expedite your creative process.”

These are in addition to the many effects and editing tools already available in the app, including multi-channel tracking, expanded video effects, and the capacity to download your clips from the app without an IG watermark.

All of these tools are available for free, at least for now, with Instagram seeking to make these new tools available to the widest possible audience. But it has also suggested that it may need to charge for future additions, especially advanced AI-based options that require significant compute.

Ball is in your court now, CapCut.
